A long time ago, an ancient power was bestowed upon the land by the three goddesses (Din, Farore, and Nayru), and it created a wonderful place called the Sacred Realm. Everyone lived in peace, until they discovered that they could capture the power that was behind the realm. A group of wizards who wielded strong and evil magic tried to capture the Sacred Realm and its power with it, betraying each other and killing anyone in their path. Their lust for power was too great. The three light spirits, Faron, Eldin, and Lanayru sealed away the power and the realm upon the goddesses’ request. As punishment for the people involved, the spirits banished them away into the Twilight Realm, a reverse world filled with darkness and shadow technology, and there they stayed, only able to go to the real world through a mirror. If they go there, the people of that world cannot see them, yet they can see them. Midna is the descendant of one of the ones who tried to steal the power of the Sacred Realm. She’s what they call a “Twili”, and she’s the true ruler of the Twilight Realm.
While she was visiting the surface world, the enemy of the world, Zant, made monsters out of the people residing there and made them mindless, forcing them to follow his every order. When she returned, Zant transformed Midna into an imp form, and she had to flee from the Twilight Realm. In an attempt to save her people, Midna recruited Link, who was turned into a wolf in order to survive in the Sacred Realm, so that he could help her gather the objects needed to defeat Zant. Together, the two gather the three items needed, but right as they were about to walk out of the temple, Zant appeared and took the items for himself. He also punished Midna by making her appear in the real world in her solid form, making her extremely weak and on the verge of dying. Once Link and Midna went to Zelda, though, the princess sacrificed all of her power to save Midna, letting the Twili roam the world in her solid form. To chase after Zant, Midna proposed that they should look for the Twilight Mirror, which is the object that transported people to the Twilight Realm. Unfortunately, the mirror was broken by Zant. So, Midna and Link had to go around and gather the broken pieces of the mirror and… that’s as far as I got. :D
Oh, she uses the powers of Twilight to fight, but since they’re not in Avoria, I figure her hair still works. Her “hair” can transform into an arm of any size, and she uses it to open large doors, grab things, or slap people. Okay, she’s never done the last one in the game, but she probably will here.
Personality: To fit her dark nature, Midna has a devilish sense of humor and loves to push people’s buttons. She will use people to get what she wants, only helping them if it will help her in the end as well. She’s also quite sarcastic and caustic, seeming not to care about anyone else except herself and her home. She has extensive knowledge of the world and the beings within it, as Link can ask for help about the land or an enemy if he needs it.
